Just because school is out for the summer doesn’t mean the learning has to end. We want to keep our explorers engaged over the summer, so Kavod Charter School is inviting all new and returning explorers to take part in our OLAM Summer Challenge.
We’ve designed the OLAM Summer Challenge to encourage explorers to keep their skills fresh and continue to care for our community while on break. Each explorer has the opportunity to complete close to 200 activities that strengthen skills in math, reading, writing, Hebrew, physical activity and even good deeds! The challenge is based on our OLAM values:
Everyone who participates in our OLAM Summer Challenge and completes at least 50 of the activities (there is a wide variety of difficulty and length, all organized by grade level) is eligible to win a prize. Here’s what you can win when you turn in completed logs and work to your homeroom teacher:
Over 150 countries: Certificate of being an OLAM traveler and a popsicle party
125 countries: Free dress day certificate
100 countries: Set of earbuds
75 countries: Chick-fil-A gift card
50 countries: World Traveler Temporary Tattoo
Here’s how to get started with the OLAM Summer Challenge:
- Each grade level has a folder of resources here.
- Locate your grade level and print the activities in the folder.
- Get started on activities and color in a country for each activity you complete.
- Be sure to keep track of all of your work in the logs, as well as the assignments you complete.
- To be eligible for prizes, explorers will turn in the following items to their homeroom or advisory teacher by August 28th, 2023:
- The Completion Page, with a Guardian’s Signature
- Completed Math & Writing Assignments
- Reading Log
- Hebrew Activities Log
- Good Deeds Log
- Physical Activity Log
- Family Expectation Acknowledgement
That’s it! Get ready to sharpen your skills and earn a prize–can you make it to 150? There’s still plenty of time to start your activities, live our OLAM values and have fun!
Parents and Guardians, if you are seeking other resources for summer learning, you can find more information on our website. We’ve organized some fantastic resources by grade level to help you find just what you need.
Kavod Charter School looks forward to welcoming all of our new and returning students this fall after a rejuvenating summer break. If you still need to enroll for the 2023-24 school year, visit our enrollment page to get started. There’s still a few spots available.
