International Baccalaureate

Kavod Charter School middle school is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program. IB World Schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to improve the teaching and learning of a diverse and inclusive community of students by delivering challenging and high quality programs. Kavod is one of only 4 International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programs in San Diego and students who attend Kavod have an priority preference in SDUSD IB program high schools.

The International Baccalaureate aligns perfectly with Kavod as it aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. IB programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

High School Credit

Students have the opportunity to earn High School Credit for their Language and Math classes at Kavod.


The Value of Middle School in the TK-8 Environment
