Academics Overview

Kavod provides a rigorous and comprehensive academic program that aligns with Common Core and California State Standards.

The Kavod TK-8 program includes:

  • Dual-Language Acquisition: The cornerstone of our program, dual language learning enhances cognition and communication skills and contributes to higher rates of personal and career achievement. Modern Hebrew is offered to all TK-8 students and Spanish is currently offered to our 6th-8th grade students.

  • Quality Instruction: Certified teachers and a low teacher to student ratio supports students to grow and learn from TK-8.

  • The Workshop Model: This interactive approach teaches the process and habits of skilled readers and writers and builds autonomy and pride in students.

  • Values Curriculum: Growing good citizens is woven throughout our curriculum and includes opportunities for leadership.

  • Service Learning: Students engage in age-appropriate service projects that contribute to an awareness of their role and responsibility within our community.

  • Global Awareness: Exposure to global perspectives starts early with our Culture and History of Israel and Immigrant Communities Curriculum. Students learn how their own community is connected to communities around the world.

  • Preparation for High School & Beyond: The International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme grows critical thinkers who are prepared for the challenge of high school and college. Our middle school students are able to take high school level courses for credit on our campus.

  • Enrichments: Music, art and physical education are essential to our TK-5 program. Middle school students enjoy a wide variety of engaging electives and enrichment opportunities.
