We are a mission driven school. Everyday, our teachers and students put into practice our guiding values as we strive to provide rigorous, tuition-free academics, modern-day Hebrew and develop socially responsible, respectful, global citizens. Kavod Charter school integrates OLAM values into the daily curriculum, producing students who exemplify respect for themselves, their communities and the world.

Mindful Explorers Who Are Outstanding Problem Solvers

A mindful explorer is someone who is in the moment, takes charge of their learning and is responsible for their actions and words. At Kavod, we integrate mindfulness, meditation and yoga practices into the students’ daily routine. Learning these strategies from an early age promotes a clear, settled mind that is open to creatively and calmly solve problems. From math to social situations, Kavod explorers are encouraged to meet challenges head on, with empathy, perseverance, depth of knowledge and perspective.

Inquiring Explorers Who Are Lifelong Learners

At Kavod, we nurture children’s innate curiosity with hands-on and real-world application of learning. From our youngest TK students to our 8th graders, Kavod explorers have the opportunity to ask questions, explore concepts, test theories and uncover new ideas. In the early years, we utilize a workshop model to keep students engaged in subject matter that challenges them but also meets them where they are. This commitment to high quality academics creates a seamless transition to the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme for our 6th-8th graders.

Global Communicators Who Are Articulate Collaborators

As an immersive modern Hebrew language school, Kavod explorers learn to communicate clearly and effectively in both English and Hebrew. The benefits of a bilingual brain are numerous, with research supporting that those who speak more than one language are better communicators and collaborators. We support students to develop a nimble, empathetic brain through daily Hebrew learning from Tk-8, along with the opportunity to learn Spanish in middle school. In our diverse community, students learn to work together and celebrate our differences and commonalities.

Respectful Global Citizens Who Are Making a Difference

We believe respect makes a world of difference. First and foremost, we model and teach respect among our staff, students and wider community. Kavod explorers are held to a high standard of character: our small, tuition-free school is open to and inclusive of everyone. We also get our students involved in the greater community to learn about diverse cultures and people, while providing opportunities to make an impact and give back.

Commitment to our mission is what has earned Kavod Charter School the distinction of top 10% of charter schools in all of California. Come see the difference a tuition-free rigorous, bilingual education can make for your Tk-8th grade student. We’re enrolling for Fall 2023.
