At Kavod Charter School, our middle school arts program is center stage. We don’t just teach the arts—we empower young creators to find their voice and transform the world. Our teachers create a nurturing environment where adolescents can discover their unique voices while mastering core academic subjects. Unlike traditional schools that often treat the arts as supplementary, Kavod Charter School integrates artistic expression and leadership opportunities throughout the curriculum. Our revolutionary program puts students at the helm, ready to take on any challenge.

Developing Leaders

The crown jewel of the arts initiative is Te’atron, an innovative Middle School Theater program that is student-centered and designed to showcase student talent (behind the scenes and in the spotlight) while teaching valuable production skills. Led by Ms. Stagner, Kavod’s Te’atron is both an enrichment class and an after school club that prepares interested 6th-8th graders for a full-length production in the first half of the school year.

From singing to acting to dancing, theater is an outlet for students to express themselves and build confidence. Te’atron gives students the opportunity to lead, learning every aspect of theatrical production including set design, lighting and direction. This hands-on approach empowers our students to take ownership of their creative expression while developing practical skills.

Students Finding their Voice

Middle schoolers who join Te’atron can add “Producer” to their skill set as their collaborative efforts brought the newest elementary school production, Frozen, to life. This producer-level responsibility transforms how students see themselves, creating a powerful identity shift from passive participant to active creator.

Under thoughtful faculty guidance, these young artists have taken on every production role such as choreography, costume design and technical management to name a few. Our students adapted this beloved story to reflect their unique perspectives, demonstrating remarkable creativity and problem-solving abilities. Through this immersive theatrical experience, Kavod’s middle schoolers develop confidence, time management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively.
