At Kavod Charter School (Kavod) we incorporate modern Hebrew language into the curriculum of our TK-8, tuition-free public school serving San Diego. Naturally, some Hebrew words hold significance as we develop academically ambitious global citizens. Let us share some of our favorites with you.

Kavod: Honor & Respect

The name of our school means honor and respect – we interweave these values into every day. Our mission is to provide an excellent academic program while teaching modern-day Hebrew and developing socially responsible, respectful, global citizens. We boast having a dynamic community of learners who respect themselves, each other, and all communities.

As educators and leaders we respect ourselves enough to lead by example, creating a culture of honor and respect towards education and the learning process. As a result, Kavod explorers carry their value of respect to school each day and share it outside of our campus for years to come.

Olam: World or Universe

We feel tremendous responsibility and opportunity to develop global citizens at our school. We call our students explorers – lifelong learners who embrace our rigorous curriculum while learning modern Hebrew. Through our service-learning and focus on cultures around the world, we instill an appreciation for diversity and equity. We believe we succeed when our explorers carry this respect and responsibility with them as they venture into the world as intelligent and compassionate global citizens.

La’Tet: To Give

La’Tet represents how we give back to our communities. At Kavod our explorers participate in a variety of service learning activities that emphasize the importance of helping others and building a global community.

Mesiba: Party!

Joy and celebration are an important benefit to our rigorous high quality education! Come celebrate with us at our Mesiba dance party. This year’s theme is the Roaring ‘20’s and the entire family is welcome for all of our explorers.

At Kavod we believe in developing global citizens through our service-learning model, modern Hebrew, and rigorous curriculum. If your explorer is ready to embrace the Hebrew language and global appreciation, we welcome you with respect. Enroll with Kavod today!
