Proud. Prepared. Set up for Success.

I wouldn’t change a thing about my social experience at Kavod. The sense of family at Kavod is one of the things that makes it so unique.” shares Sarah M., a Kavod Graduate and current High School student.

Chaim (Life) after Middle School can feel overwhelming for any student or parent, but rest assured – Kavod families feel supported every step of the way during this big transition. Kavod Charter is a tuition-free public school for grades TK-8 in San Diego. We pride ourselves on our academic rigor as we develop curious, knowledgeable and empathetic individuals who strive to create a better world.

Prepared for High School

As Kavod students transition to High School, they leave feeling prepared and set up for success. We help ease this transition by providing our students with a jump-start on High School – while still in Middle School! Our International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme is a special program offering middle school students the opportunity to take rigorous classes. Our IB program often launches students into an IB Diploma Programme in an IB high school or Advanced Placement (AP) tracks in a variety of courses at traditional US high schools.

Progressing from middle school to high school has never been easier! Kavod student’s can earn High School credits without leaving campus. Our Spanish and Hebrew classes count as high school language course credits, and our students can even earn high school math credits.

Don’t Take Our Word for It – Ask our Alumni!

When asked how studying world languages throughout elementary and middle school has prepared our explorers for High School, Kavod alumni share:

It has helped prepare me for taking a high level of Spanish in high school.”

Kavod prepared me very, very well for high school. I actually think high school is easier than middle school.”

“The benefits of attending a small school for middle school is that it is easier to make friends since the classes are not that large. Also, since there are less students, the teachers can take more time to help you on things that you are having trouble with.”

Kavod prepared me very well for the rigor of high school academics, and I’m very grateful to Kavod and all of my teachers for preparing me so well.”
