An update from The Hebrew Charter School Center:
Dear Friend of the Hebrew Charter School Center,
We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our family of schools. Yesterday the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) formally approved Lashon Academy Charter School to open. This is the sixth school in our network and the fourth to be authorized in the last year.
The Hebrew Charter School Center‘s (HCSC) growing network consists of two charter schools that are already in operation in the New York metro area: the Hebrew Language Academy Charter School in Brooklyn, our flagship school, which opened in 2009; and Hatikvah International Academy Charter School in East Brunswick, N.J., which opened in 2010. The three other HCSC-affiliated schools, which will open this coming fall are Kavod Elementary Charter School in San Diego, Sela Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. and Harlem Hebrew Language Academy Charter School in Manhattan.
Along with our commitment to academic excellence and differentiated instruction, all of our schools share four essential elements:
- Hebrew Language Immersion
- Culture and History of Israel and its Immigrant Communities
- Service Learning
- Diversity
We are especially proud of our success so far in creating integrated, inclusive schools, and we have a special opportunity to create this environment again in LA.
We are so excited by the growth of our network, and we look forward to sharing more good news with you in the future.
